Ohio tops nation in rate of wind-energy growth

WASHINGTON -- With a 900 percent increase, Ohio was the state with the fastest rate of wind-energy growth in 2011, according to rankings by the American Wind Energy Association.
A total of 101.5 megawatts was installed in 2011, up from almost nothing the year before. Although Ohio had the highest growth rate, it was not among the top 10 states. Texas and Iowa topped that list.
