Huntington Center ranks #8 in sales, attendance
Toledo's downtown arena continues to score high relative to other arenas across the world in terms of attendance and ticket sales.
The concert industry magazine Venues Today ranked the Huntington Center as eighth in the world in the 5,001-10,000 seat category, with $7,370,365 in ticket sales and 147,942 in attendance.
The 2011 year-end report numbers are based on total gross ticket sales from Oct. 16, 2010, to Oct. 15, 2011. Compared to 2010, sales were up about $2.3 million at the Huntington Center for 2011, according to a news release from the arena.
In the 2010 Venues Today year-end report, the arena ranked number 11 with $5,018,918 in sales and 142,289 in attendance.
"Some venues saw their total gross ticket sales go down as compared to 2010. We were able to bring some great shows including Kid Rock, two Bob Seger shows, Rush, Tim McGraw, and Michael Buble, just to name a few. I think the $2.3 million jump in sales shows how strong this market is for concerts. The community has supported the venue from its opening and we truly appreciate it," SMG General Manager Steve Miller said in the news release.
The arena is managed by SMG.
