Toledo Express Airport offers area travelers passenger air service aboard four airlines (American Eagle, Allegiant Air, Delta Connection and DIRECTAIR) offering hassle-free, non-stop and one-stop air service to destinations throughout the U.S. and around the globe. The airport also offers a wide variety of aviation services including, three fixed-based operators (National Flight Services, Grand Aire and TOL Aviation), as well as a Cessna Citation Service center, Flight Safety Training Center and Toledo Public Schools Aviation Center.
The
airport also is home to the National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing and
serves as the North American Air Cargo Hub for Schenker/BAX Global,
Inc., a global overnight and second-day air cargo and logistics

Toledo Metcalf Airport, operated by the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, provides general aviation services through its fixed-based operator Crow, Inc. Metcalf lies south of Toledo, near I-280, about seven miles from downtown.
HIGHWAYS

Northwest Ohio is a center for the trucking industry. Three major interstate highways serve the region; I-80 (east/west from New York to California); I-90 (east/west from Massachusetts to Washington); and I-75 (north/south from Canada/Michigan to Florida). Combinations of other connecting interstates make for direct links with major cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. The region is a major distribution point for such companies as Fed-EX, USF Holland and UPS.Nearly 100 truck lines give shippers single-line truck service to every metropolitan area in the U.S. and most of Canada. Common, contract, refrigerated and liquid-bulk carriers are all available in ample supply in the area.

Operating the area’s bus system, TARTA is supported publicly through a tax levy and works with public and private agencies to provide maximum service for ridership. TARTA serves the communities of Toledo, Sylvania, Sylvania Township, Ottawa Hills, Rossford, Perrysburg, Maumee, Waterville and Spencer Township with 40 regular routes and eight express routes. All TARTA buses are 100 percent wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.
Toledo Area Regional Paratransit Service (TARPS) is a door-to-door service that transports disabled individuals of all ages. TARPS is available to qualified residents in the TARTA service area.

The Port of Toledo is the third-largest deepwater port on the Great Lakes, handling an average of 10-15 million tons of cargo annually. The port features a 150-acre domestic and international general cargo-shipping center on the Maumee River, the largest river flowing into the Great Lakes. The Port of Toledo’s ideal geographic location can provide many Midwestern shippers with inland transportation costs that are generally lower than those of East Coast ports.

Toledo is the third-largest rail hub in the U.S.; Norfolk Southern, CSX, Railtex and CN provide rail service to locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Main trunk lines that traverse the region, inter-modal terminals for Trailers On Flat Cars (TOFC) and Containers On Flat Cars (COFC) rail connections and break-of-bulk facilities at the Port of Toledo make the region highly accessible to the rest of North America. The Dr. Martin Luther King Plaza station in Toledo serves up to 100,000 passengers a year, making it Ohio’s busiest passenger rail hub.
