Doing Business with the Government

To sell to the government, you must develop a plan or strategy that entails the following:
  • Determining what you have to sell;
  • Determining what federal agencies will purchase your product(s) or service(s);
  • Developing a strategy to effectively market and promote your small business to federal buying agents who may be interested in purchasing your product(s) or service(s); and
  • Knowing what resources can assist you in accomplishing this goal.

The Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) of Ohio are a statewide network of counseling offices offering FREE help to small and mid-size businesses interested in selling their products and services to federal, state, and local government agencies.  There are nine PTACs strategically located throughout Ohio as well as PTACs located in every state. For assistance in northwest Ohio contact the University of Toledo PTAC.
