About Us
Lucas County Improvement Corporation is a private non-profit organization dedicated to developing the economic potential of our region by providing the best resources, planning, and expertise to industry and government. Working in partnership with businesses, governments, educational institutions, and the non-profit sector the LCIC creates innovative solutions to the challenges of a changing global economy in the 21st Century. We are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of local elected officials and private sector business leaders from Lucas County. The LCIC is an operational partner with the Workforce Investment Board of Lucas County, the Lucas County Office of Economic Development and the Lucas County Workforce Development Agency. We work in close alliance with the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, Regional Growth Partnership, Lucas County Board of County Commissioners, and the City of Toledo, among other municipal entities in our region.

Our History
The LCIC was founded in 1964 to advance, encourage and promote the industrial, economic, commercial and civic development of Lucas County and the surrounding areas. Historically, we have accomplished this by providing economic development assistance through the processing of revenue bonds and revolving loan funds. In July 2006, the LCIC Board initiated a partnership between economic development and workforce development entities in Lucas County. Our newly combined staff and resources allows for the prompt realization of solutions for the business, government, non-profit and education sectors we serve.

Future Plans
As a recently formed partnership between economic and workforce development agencies, our immediate goals are to streamline and strengthen the process and impact of economic-workforce development in Lucas County and to create a dynamic educational development program tied to economic growth for the next generation of workers and leaders.
